Restoration Passage Code of Ethics

As a Christian life coach, professional mentor, and relationship coach:

  • I abide by the authority of God’s word as absolute truth and submit to the leading of the Holy Spirit in all dealings with the client.

  • I will conduct services in a respectful and professional manner.

  • I will clearly review and explain the role of client/mentor and client/coach, identifying expectations, and ensuring mutual agreement to services provided in advance of signing an agreement and receiving payment from a client.

  • I understand that during certain time periods more or less time will be needed with the client depending on life circumstances. Either party may offer to renegotiate the terms and offerings of the service agreement to accommodate special circumstances.

  • I commit to speaking the truth in love, with openness and transparency, when addressing sensitive or difficult subjects. At all times, feedback offered to clients is intended to challenge and motivate change as desired and recognized by my clients. Clients are responsible for their individual choices in between sessions as well as for their responses to feedback given to them during sessions.

  • I commit to pursuing personal spiritual growth through prayer, bible study, and individual accountability with mature spiritual leaders to offer an authentic role model to clients.

  • I commit to providing coaching services that are within my areas of competency and level of expertise. I will operate within professional competency when providing and recommending resources to clients for use outside of sessions. Additional resources will be provided to increase client’s independent progression and that are consistent with clients’ spiritual, relational, and personal growth goals.

  • All client information, whether written or spoken, will be kept confidential. No client’s identity will be revealed without the client’s permission. Client will be informed of the limits of confidentiality prior to obtaining services.

  • Clients are entitled to the best possible professional referral if I am personally unable to assist them.

  • If at any time it becomes apparent that mentoring or coaching services are no longer necessary or beneficial, the client will not be encouraged to continue the service agreement.

  • If mentoring or coaching services need to be terminated due to unavoidable conflicts in my personal or professional life, clients will be given as much advance notice as possible.
